MAKE CHANGE STICK
Amidst the height of the pandemic, the Black Lives Matter uprising began after numerous incidences of unlawful murder of Black people–and during all of this chaos, many people were stuck at home trying to figure out a way they could help. Social media was flooded with an overwhelming amount of infographics, donation pages, and articles. I knew I wanted to do more than merely reposting one of these resources, so I conducted some research and decided to turn my drive for change into a fun design project.
This led me to launch the MakeChangeStick initiative, where I designed and sold stickers to fundraise for the Equal Justice Initiative. EJI is an incredible organization that is committed to ending mass incarceration in the U.S. and challenging racial and economic injustice.
In just two months, I was able to sell 522 stickers and raise $1600 for the Equal Justice Initiative. That being said, MakeChangeStick was a small passion project and there is still so much change that needs to be done. However, I am proud that I could use my design skills to promote and sell these powerful messages that continue to gently remind people of the importance of activism and equality.
